Sotto pressione del governo, della stampa eil pubblico che ha trasferito la tecnologia ai militari, Tony non vuole rivelare i segreti dell'armatura di Iron Man, perché ha paura che le informazioni andranno nelle mani sbagliate.





Con Pepper Potts e James Rhodes, al suo fianco, Tony trova nuovi alleati e si oppone a nuove forze, anche più forti.
